Try Cue the Crowd Yourself
This is the actual Cue the Crowd platform. Your trial lets you create
two practice events and experience the system from both sides:
the DJ side and the guest side.
Your Free Trial
Create up to two fake practice events. Use fake names and dates.
These are simply for learning how Cue the Crowd works.
Trial-only limits
Duplicate, Save as Template, and changes to a saved event's name,
type, or date are intentionally unavailable during the free trial.
These controls are fully activated with the purchased version.
STEP 1
Create Your First Practice Event
On the Cue the Crowd screen to the right, choose
Create New Event .
Fill it out just as you would if you were preparing for a real client.
For your first trial, we recommend creating a wedding.
Example:
Event Name: Emily & Jake's Wedding
Event Type: Wedding
Date: Any future date
Guest count: Make one up
Complete the event setup questions and save the event.
Cue the Crowd will create the event and generate its unique guest
connection information.
STEP 2
Event HQ — Your Starting Point
DJ / HOST SIDE
After creating an event, you'll enter Event HQ .
Think of Event HQ as the home base for that particular event.
From here you can prepare the entertainment before the event
and control different parts of the experience while the event
is happening.
You'll see tools such as Guest Hub, Show Builder, Host Control,
Show Director, Audience Display and other event features.
STEP 3
Show Builder — Plan Before the Event
DJ / HOST SIDE
Show Builder is where you can prepare interactive
entertainment ahead of time.
Instead of trying to invent something while you're standing behind
the DJ booth, you can build a sequence of activities before the event.
Now let's run one feature all the way through so you can see exactly
how the DJ side and the guest's phone communicate in real time.
Wedding example:
You might prepare a Bride's Side vs. Groom's Side competition,
a music challenge, a prediction, a buzzer round and a crowd activity.
The activities are saved with the event so they're ready when you
need them.
STEP 4
Host Control — Control What Happens Live
DJ / HOST SIDE
Host Control is your private control area during
the event.
Guests do not see these controls. You decide what becomes available
to them and when.
Depending on the activity, you can launch voting, predictions,
buzzers, competitions, song requests, shoutouts and other
interactive features.
Example:
Dinner is running 15 minutes late. Instead of simply waiting,
you launch a quick Bride's Side vs. Groom's Side competition
from Host Control.
STEP 5
Guest Hub — Now See What Your Guests See
GUEST PHONE SIDE
This is one of the most important parts of your trial.
Guest Hub is the page your guests access from
their phones.
At a real event, guests scan the event's QR code once.
There is no app for them to download and they
do not need a Cue the Crowd account.
Find the Guest Hub link or QR code for your practice event.
Then either:
scan the QR code with your actual phone, or
open the guest link in another browser/private window.
Keep the DJ/Host screen open too.
You should now have:
Computer: You are the DJ controlling the event.
Phone or second window: You are pretending to be a guest.
This lets you experience exactly how Cue the Crowd connects
the DJ and the audience.
STEP 6
Try a Live Buzzer From Both Sides
Let's run one feature all the way through.
FIRST — DJ SIDE
From the host controls, open or launch a
Fastest Finger / Buzzer activity.
THEN — GUEST SIDE
Look at your phone or guest browser window.
The guest should now have access to the buzzer.
Tap the buzzer as the guest.
BACK TO DJ SIDE
Return to Host Control. The DJ can see who buzzed first.
That's the basic Cue the Crowd flow:
DJ launches something → Guest participates from their phone →
DJ receives the result.
Voting, predictions, competitions, song requests and many other
features use this same connected-event concept.
STEP 7
Show Director — When You Need Entertainment Now
DJ / HOST SIDE
Show Director helps you run structured entertainment
rather than simply launching isolated features.
It can guide you through rounds and activities while you're working
the room.
Example:
The caterer tells you dinner needs another 10 minutes.
Instead of scrambling for something to say, you can pull up an
interactive activity and turn those 10 minutes into entertainment.
Cue the Crowd includes different types of experiences for weddings,
corporate events, parties, proms and other audiences.
STEP 8
Audience Display — The Big Screen View
Audience Display is different from both Host Control
and Guest Hub.
Host Control stays private on the DJ's computer.
Guest Hub is what individual guests use on their phones.
Audience Display is designed for the venue television,
projector or larger display.
It can show selected prompts, games, scores, photos and live
moments to the entire room without exposing your private DJ controls.
STEP 9
Explore the Other Features
The examples above are only part of Cue the Crowd.
During your practice event, explore the other available tools,
including features such as:
Live Voting
Predictions
Song Requests
Priority Requests
Shoutouts
Guest Photos
Prize Draws
Word Clouds
Team and table competitions
Crowd activities
Audience Display experiences
For the best trial experience, keep switching between the
DJ side and the guest side so you can see how they work together.
STEP 10
Create Your Second Practice Event
When you're finished exploring your first event, create one more.
Try a different type of event this time.
Example:
Event Name: Acme Holiday Party
Event Type: Corporate Event
This lets you see how Cue the Crowd can be used beyond weddings —
including corporate events, holiday parties, proms, birthdays and
other live events.
After two practice events have been created, your free trial is
complete. Creating additional events requires the full Cue the Crowd
license.
